Brother MFC-J1410DW Ink Cost Per Page: Feature Price, Flat Ink Rate
The Brother MFC-J1410DW is an inkjet all-in-one — print, copy, scan — with Wi-Fi and a touchscreen. It sells for $140. Running costs land at $7.86 per 100 pages in black and $21.95 in color. Brother backs that black figure with the LC501XLBK cartridge, $39 for 500 pages.
The Canon PIXMA G3270, a tank printer that refills from bottles, undercuts it dramatically: $0.38 in black and $0.97 in color per 100 pages, far below the Brother's $7.86 and $21.95. It costs $249 up front, though, against the Brother's $140, and drops both duplex printing and the touchscreen.
Stepping down Brother's own lineup shows what the extras cost. The MFC-J1260W sells for $80 but has neither duplex printing nor a touchscreen, while matching the Brother's black and color running costs exactly. The MFC-J1360DW, at $110, keeps duplex but still lacks the touchscreen, at the same rates. The running-cost floor for inkjets belongs to the Canon MAXIFY MB2720, at $4.17 in black and $13.16 in color per 100 pages, with fax and Ethernet included for $216. It also prints at 24 ppm against the Brother's 16.
