Epson EcoTank ET-4903 Cost Per Page: Same Ink Cost Across Epson's Tank Range
The Epson EcoTank ET-4903 is a tank-fed all-in-one that prints, copies, scans and faxes, with Wi-Fi built in. It sells for $300. Running costs are $0.38 per 100 pages in black and $1.10 in color, with an $18 bottle rated for 4,700 pages behind the black figure.
Within Epson's own tank lineup, the EcoTank ET-2900 sells for $240 with print, copy and scan but no fax, and its rates match the ET-4903's $0.38 and $1.10 exactly. The EcoTank ET-1910 goes further, at $160 for print only, dropping copy, scan and fax as well — yet it lands at the same rates.
Stepping up within the same line, the EcoTank ET-2980 costs $330 and adds auto-duplex printing. It prints at 15 ppm. Its black rate, $0.29, undercuts the ET-4903's; its color rate, $1.08, sits close to the ET-4903's as well.
Canon's PIXMA G3270 is the cheapest ink tank printer to run, at $249. It ties the ET-4903 on black cost per page and undercuts it on color at $0.97, though it drops fax while keeping copy and scan.
One step pricier to run than the ET-4903 is the HP Smart Tank 5103, which sells for $270 — below the ET-4903's own $300. Its black rate, $0.40, is essentially even with the ET-4903's; color runs a bit higher at $1.22.
For buyers who skip color entirely, the HP LaserJet Pro 4006dw offers a mono-laser alternative: $400 up front, with toner running $2.23 per 100 pages — far higher than the ET-4903's ink cost. It prints at 47 ppm against the ET-4903's 11 ppm, and adds Ethernet, a touchscreen and auto-duplex, none of which the ET-4903 has.
