Epson WorkForce Pro WF-7310 Cost per Page: Print-Only While Its Siblings Add More
The Epson WorkForce Pro WF-7310 is a print-only inkjet with auto-duplex and Wi-Fi, printing at 25 ppm. It sells for $280. Running costs come to $3.95 in black and $14.04 in color per 100 pages, the black figure drawn from Epson's $87 EP-812XXL-BK cartridge, rated for 2,200 pages.
Within Epson's WorkForce Pro range, the WF-7310 is the print-only model: it goes without the copy, scan and fax that the $330 WF-7820 adds, along with a touchscreen. The two tie on ink rates too, ranking 4th of 31 inkjet printers on black cost per page and 3rd of 31 on color cost per page — the WF-7820 is the only other WorkForce Pro model matching those figures.
Outside Epson, the Canon MAXIFY MB2720 holds the color running-cost floor among inkjet printers at $13.16 per 100 pages, against the WF-7310's $14.04. The WF-7310 turns the tables on black, $3.95 against the Canon's $4.17 per 100 pages. The MB2720 also costs less up front, $216, and folds in copy, scan, fax and a touchscreen that the WF-7310 lacks.
For a reader chasing rock-bottom running costs, the Canon PIXMA G3270 is a tank printer that refills from ink bottles. It runs at $0.38 in black against $0.97 in color per 100 pages, far below the WF-7310's own rates. It costs $249, picks up copy and scan over the WF-7310's print-only functions, but drops auto-duplex and Ethernet, and prints far slower, at 11 ppm against the Epson's top speed of 25 ppm.
